Yamaha Prop Question

Guys, I have a 60 hp 2 stroke Yamaha. My question is can I swap prop's w/ a buddy that has a 90 hp 2 stroke Yamaha? I need to downsize my current prop to maybe a 15p. If I purchase a used prop does it have to come off of a Yamaha? When searching for a used prop do I need to specify the specific splines I have?

as long as its the same splines i dont see an issue... may have a lil diff spacing... but thats no big deal

some have different washer setups for the hub (tohatsu) but mostly its just based on the splines and hub diameter

You could always find a prop with the universal hub system. Merc calls it Flo-torq II the other prop manufactures call it something else. It's essentially a square hole that accepts a big rubber hub. Hub stays on boat and the props slip on and off.
