Saturday Big Lake skunking.

Took advantage of somewhat warmer weather and thought maybe the family would get lucky. Launched out of Hebert's around 12 to hit the major feeding period. Tried old settlement drift and not a bite. Moved out to ship channel around spicers and not a bite again. Finished up in dead end canal fishing around 7' watet depth before the 2 year old had enough of the chill from the boat riding. Never sniffed a fish. Had 1 pink corkie working slow, one jighead with black and chart paddle tail working the bottom and a popping cork with 4' leader and lil john.
Anyone fish and do any good this weekend on BL? Makes it all worth it. Start em early. The Attachment 82501 |
Caught a few yesterday morning, but it was not fast and furious for sure.

There was a black SCB looking boat with blacked out motor that came screaming over to the east bank. Guys had the motor jacked up and trimmed out so high that it was bouncing like a rabbit throwing a huge rooster tail. My little 2 year old said "dada dada look it a rabbit boat, bounce bounce bounce". Saw them later going through Texaco cut toward spicers and they had it hooked up and running quick.
