no I don't use them but take a good look at it in the store and see if it has a way to tighten the connection.

if its worth having I would think it should have a way that can adjust the movement.

my motor as it came doesn't pivot but it extends out about 24" so I never had a need for one of these

this option cost a little more but looks like it would be easier to tighten it (looks like a nut and bolt connection to arm) to hold any position you put it in http://www.basspro.com/Big-Foot-Tele...SSSELL_PRODUCT

Well if you are ever in the market for a new trolling motor I highly recommend one equipped with GPS. I just got a new boat and put a Motorguide xi5 with pinpoint GPS and its simply awesome. I don't have to manage it like I used to with the older style.

Academy sells this Pro kontrol. I have one that is about 15 years old and it has out lived 3 trolling motors. Mine is made a little different and I paid about $100 for it at a tackle shop. If mine breaks i will replace with same product.

This one is not as solid as the old Pro konttol was but it gets the job done for now. I'm always scared I'm gonna break it
