Correct. L&B molds were bought by IslaMorada Boatworks. The 20 Boca, 22 and 24 Bay. They have made improvements to the top cap, hatches gutters, non-skid and the build quality is very high. The running surface is unchanged as far as I know.

20 base price - $66,900
22 base price - $77,900
24 base price - $82,500

For that price I would much rather a 25 blackjack or a yellowfin...

No way would I have a 25 Blackjack over their 24. The quality of the Islamorada is on point.

And why pay 20k more for a yellowfin??

the new morada, no. the old lake and bay 24', yes. i never said i didn't like them, in fact i love the boat. however, i was a bit taken back when i received the updated pricing from them a few weeks ago. with that said, the owner did say that layout could be changed, and it was a true custom boat. but, i guess i am the only one that thinks $70K is a tad much for a 20ft boat, and if that is someones budget then the sky is the limit as far as the number of boat options available.

the lake and bay bocas were highly touted on the old redfish circuit because it is/was one of the few 20ft' boats that you can hang a 300 on. again, boat looks fantastic and i am sure fit and finish is superb, but you have a whole heck of a lot of alternative options when you are looking at $80K+ out the door.

Reason I asked is because in my opinion comparing morada to blackjack is not even close.

Again, all personal opinion, which is why there are multiple boat builders in the market. If it was my money I would buy the blackjack without hesitation due to the ride and rough water capability. Not saying the morada doesn't have that, but if the 25 blackjack lives up to the 22 then it has to be a great boat. I fish trinity/galveston bay and it can get rough as all heck in an instant making a solid/dry ride a top consideration. My buddy just sold his brand new 25 haynie and bought a whaler for that exact reason (not comparing haynie to morada).

That's the beauty of the free market - choices! Now, if you wanted to buy me a Morada for my birthday, I would definitely take it and be as happy as a pig in slop...
