Topwater Specks and Reds on Big Lake
1 Attachment(s)
Started out trying to find some fish in the marsh behind the weirs but that wasn't happening. The cast netters were out in force. Got as far away from them as possible and found a few on the south end of the lake and the ship channel. There wasn't a whole lot of tide during the early part of the day but it eventually started moving and when it did the fish really started biting. Ended up with 25 trout, 5 founder, and 4 reds we kept but we caught a bunch more. They were all for the most part bulls. Caught the trout on a combination of Swim baits, other soft plastics, and top water. Caught all of the reds except one on top water. Caught on pretty much all different kinds of colors with Glow/Chat and Purple/Chart being the best. Topwater baits were all completely different from each other in make and color but it didn't matter they would hit a stick if you got it close enoughFun fun day on the water. Made a little video, check it out.
