Reel cleaning in Lafayette

Does anybody take their reels to get cleaned in Lafayette? I clean all of my spin getups, but my Abu Garcia Ambassador baitcasters are a pain with all of those little parts. I'd rather take them somewhere. Any suggestions?

OCR does a good Job. I go to Lake Charles Tackle, they do a great Job. I think OCR ur best bet in Lafayette

Yes.. OCR is great

i heard OCR quit cleaning reels. Been thinking of doing as a sideline job. I could clean them for you for a fair price

OCR did quit cleaning them. There are some places you can send them off for cleaning, but it's typically about $40 per reel. I'd much rather just throw them away and pick up a new set when they go on sale for $50 a piece. I contacted Abu Garcia, and I might be sending the reels back to them. They tell me that for $21.95 per reel, they'll refurb them. That's pretty hard to beat. But if that doesn't work out, I'll be contacting you, Gasper. Thanks.

You can drop them off at redmond's marine. They have someone that cleans them for 12.00 per reel unless it needs parts.

dam, that someone either just needs something to do, or can't be doing a very thorough job for $12 each

$12... but there's so many little tiny parts that you have to deal with. That's crazy.

You can mail them or drive them to Bell City. http://www.cajunreelcleaning.com/

Hey I've got a penn battle that needs cleaning...would you be interested? I've got a bunch of other bait casters to that I'll need to get done eventually.

I would definately be interested. PM me, email me, or call me. We can work out a fair price. I work in Breaux Bridge, so could meet you in Lafayette.

I've been cleaning and repairing my own as well as some for friends the last few years. I take them completely down and clean, lube, and grease em.

Just got mine back yesterday from him, I mailed em to him last week and he already cleaned em and sent em back, Super nice guy. The reels are Super smooth. One needed a bearing. Will use him again.

I have cleaned and serviced reels for 30 years...not a reel made I cant fix as long as parts are available...but having said that...who has time??? LOL

I am not trying to get anyone to send reels to me to clean...I do charge $15 for cleaning, but I am so busy with the lures and Kayaks it would be at least a couple weeks for me to get them back to you...

When I had my store in San Antonio, I did most of the reel repair for the other independent shops that offered reel repair...Abu's are easy...if you understand the basics of how a reel works its not difficult, but some reels are very OVER engineered LOL

Here's a closer option. I brought 4 curados to this guy that were trashed. Got them back within a week and that's because the parts had to be ordered. Bill was 120$ for the repairs and cleaning. I had a bad spool in one of them and instead of ordering a new spool for 59$ he filed it down and fixedAttachment 95843 it. 20$ for a cleaning but it worth it.
Nice to have those old curados working again as well. Can't find them anymore
