It's all stock with an Olds 403 engine and turbo 350 trans. Gona build a Pontiac 400 for her later. Price and timing so I couldn't pass it up. My wife has always wanted one and I ccan't wait to hand her the keys tomorrow. I just hope I don't start crying again.

YES!!!!

She is sitting in the driveway. I really hope I never have to make that trip again. Round trip from Alexandria to Houston in a day is more than I want. The car is solid and I think the guy considered it a cheap pos. His showroom was full of stuff in the 100/300k range. Man there was some fine rides there.

If you're not concerned with being original, why not put a 5.3 or 6.0 out of a newer gm truck in it?

Let's put it this way, during those years...no point in talking about HP. This looks to be a 1977-78 model. An example of HP in those days, I bought a 1976 TA brand new. It came in 2 engine configurations-a 6.6 litre(403ci) and a 7.5 liter(455 ci). The 6.6 had 185 hp, and the 455ci had a shameful 200 hp! HP was really watered down by then. I remember making the mistake one day, after being challenged by another TA, I think it was about a '74 model with the same 6.6 that I had. But little did I know at the time, they came with the SD (super duty)engine. He went around me with seemingly little effort. :( Very humling. :D

Here's a few pics of her other than the one I had from the internet. She is clean and solid. Would love to have her painted and have a couple little dings fixed but am having trouble finding the original decal for the hood. Paint is good but has a few dings and light scratches. A new paint job would make her even prettier than she already is.

This model was marketed towards female buyers. Plush interior, jeweled instrument cluster and the phoenix has dark and light blue instead of all dark blue.

southern151 11-13-2015 06:14 PM

Uhhh....YEAH!!!!!

I like this thing!!
