Jack placement question on the tounge
Does it matter where the jack is on the tounge of the trailer. I need to put a spare tire rack on my trailer so I moved it back. Or should I move it on front. Should I move it in front or is it fine where it is now?http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...0ae5cc04de.jpg

I am planning on replacing the jack on my trailer in the future, and I thought about this a couple days ago. I think as long as you have a jack that will raise the boat high enough, the placement won't matter. My current jack isn't quite tall enough due to the height of my hitch, and where its placed now I sometimes will bust a knuckle on the winch handle.

the farther back it is, the higher it will lift plus the greater clearance you have for jackknifing in tight quarters when those situations arise.
if you get one of these tire racks: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tie-Down-Gal...MAAOSwFTRTrFpV you can mount it to the which post and not have to move the jack at all as far as making room for the tire goes |
Thats what I have. It's right in front the jack. The reason i had to move the jack back, so the tire can fit. It was either to close to the tounge or to close to the i beams.
but looks like I'll have to move the jack back where it was an put the spare tire rack on the winch post. That sound better Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk |

Nice...make sure you have a lock on that spare...things have a way of disappearing at the ramps.
