Yamaha prop on Mercury?

When running a Yamaha painted stainless prop on a 2000 Mercury 50hp 2 stroke, do you use the Yamaha hardware or the Mercury hardware?

I think the only difference is a "slight" difference in the nut length vs washer thickness to the tune of about 1/8" or less difference

as I understand it, they are swappable in both brands and all that changes is the number of threads (2 or 3 extra) that will be sticking out passed the castle nut

I would use the thrust washer (between prop and lower unit) from the motor brand so you are assured of the correct spacing there
