Toledo Bend advise

I'll be on the Texas side of Toledo Bend (Paulo Gaucho area) this weekend. The last few times I was up there I was worried about putting Jr on a good bream bite. It's daddy's turn to try for some bass this go round. Any suggestions on baits and areas to target (deep water, grass beds, etc...)? I'm admittedly ignorant when it comes to bass fishing and my freshwater tackle box is light on bass baits. I'll be in a flat bottom with a Prodrive and no trolling motor, so it'll be interesting to say the least. I'm just looking for any advise that will make it not suck near as much! TIA

Fish at night. Find a point or hump near deep water fish plastics on drop off. Or tie a lantern to a stump and drown shiners for sacalait

Run south and fish the boat docks on the north side of Lowes Creek. Don't worry about boat lanes.

Thanks for the advice guys. My wife's grandpa actually lives next to Lowes Creek Park and that's where we are staying. We fished a few brush piles he set out and did pretty decent. We'll be heading out in a minute to try for bass.

So how'd it go?
Don't leave us hanging. :)

My wife's grandpa caught 2 throwbacks and I missed a few hits. I definitely need to work on my bass skills. I came home with a nice mess of sacalait though.

It'll happen for you.
