Hog Island

Can someone give me some advice? I saw on google there seem to be some fishable canals a little north of Hog Island and what seem to be a boat launch. Is it worth my time to give it a shot??? Thanks in advance

There are some mash ponds east of the Hog Island Gully boat launch. I don't remember any canals other than Hog Island canal that connects to the ship channel. I just checked Google Earth..... and it shows a canal going north about .9 miles east of the boat landing. I have never gone up that canal.

North of the hog Island canal the nearest boat launch is at Dugas which is 3 or 4 miles to the north.

Launch at hog island. Plenty of fishing in the main canal and marshes. Reds, flounder and speck.

Lol. It happens. But I have had way more good to decent trips than bad.

I use to launch there some..... but mostly to run over to the ship channel and go south. Only stopped in the canal to fish on very windy days a few times.
