Met dad at launch at 0630 grabbed a quart of shrimp and just lowered trolling motor there. Barges pushed up on the banks everywhere! Did not find a school until we were almost straight across from the locks close to west bank in 15 feet of water. Still fishing 3-4 feet under small Poppin cork. It was literally fish on every cast til we ran out of shrimp. But...they are getting smaller a didn't see any shrimp and neither did the birds cause they never worked like previous day. Out of 50-60 landed we boxed 20 or so. Still early I asked dad of wanted to go find birds in lake or go get more shrimp and try to finish our limit here. He was like u kidding, this has been so easy so close and plenty to clean now and not even hot yet so let's just end it on perfect trip. Back home with clean boat by 1030! Next trip Sunday I want to go find some better fish and is suppose to be best tide day of month. I'll admit it will be hard to pass up and not stop here again. Idk wats down there and can't feel reef but these fish have been holding in 25 yd area or so over a week now. I'm sure its just the shrimp but they not jumping and swimming on top like they were early in week. Barges play a big part cause some leave engines in gear while pushed up on the bank and stir up mud and just when they come by fish stop biting til it calms back down. Don't expect it to last much longer this close to launch but it has been fun and really easy. Waiting on pics from cleaning table now

Looked for you Thursday AM but didn't see you out there.

Glad to see you had a better day than I did. Picked up one or two here and there, but never got on 'em -- with or without the help of the birds.

Sorry. I wasn't trying to say that you weren't there. Knowing me, I was probably passing on the wrong side of the island.

Again, glad you got on 'em and keep the reports coming! I hope to get a few trips in this fall and will hopefully have something worth reporting myself soon.
