Weekend(s) remodel project

We had a leak a while back in my little boy's room, so we had to take the wall down and replace a few studs and the outside sheathing. I decided to go a different route other than sheetrock on that wall. I got my hands on some cypress from an old house or barn. It took an ungodly amount of time pulling nails, pressure washing, drying, and sanding the wood to get it ready to hang! Still need to finish the crown and trim out the window, but I couldn't be happier with how it's coming along. I can easily see a pool table and dry bar making it's way in there down the road!

That looks awesome Marty! If there's one job I hate, it's painting. I'm not looking forward to sealing the wall once everything is done.

Thanks Matt,

Building this house has been a chore, actually took a break from it, it was wearing me down. I sure as hell hope Im saving a butt load of money doing it my self. But now that we got the paint on her, Its starting to look like a home. Actually pretty excited about starting finish out!

as far as your sealing are you going to roll it on or spray?

Matt G 02-27-2017 02:43 PM

I'm thinking of spraying it on. I've never sprayed poly before. Not sure how big of a mess it will make. I have both an airless and an HVLP gun I could use

I can tell you this from my experience this weekend, COVER EVERYTHING if you spray!!

It get everywhere.

Ive got some exposed lam-beams Im going to stain and seal and Im just going to do those by hand for the simple fact I don't want to have to seal off everything and cover everything back up.
