Big Lake seasonal conditions
I know this is a newbie question but I know there has to be some kind of trend during spring, summer, fall and winter with the conditions of the lake. I would assume the lake is really cloudy/muddy during the spring due to rain, wind, and flooding from the water run off after winter in the north and such. Is that a typical expectation? If the rain stays down during the summer the water clarity will improve and can expect the same moving into the fall? I'm glad I can watch the forum and not waste a trip and have to guess at it.

This year is like no other , water has been horrible for over 3 months now . It?s finally getting better . April is always one of the slowest months in lake due to the transaction period for trout . Water will clear back up real soon to normal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
That is what I was understanding but I wanted it to be spelled out, everyone has a different perspective on outdoors....haha. My boat is finally trustworthy and I'm feeling like making the ride out that way and learn the lake. Now I need to learn the weather and area to know when to go. Plus guys are nice enough to post about what is going on here. Thanks for the input! I am still ignorant to big lake.

Trout are fickle business. Hitting the jetties to target bull reds is always an option to salvage a trip if the trout are hiding well.

That was the idea, I was going to head out there a few times then go off into the lake one day soon. I got to use my Helix for the first time this past weekend, I feel a lot better knowing I can find my way back of I get turned around.
