I have a $200 Phillips surround sound system & dvd player from Wal-Mart that works just fine.

they make a lot cheaper soundbars, i'm wondering if they got the technology to match the old 5.1/7.1

I've heard people talking about them and from what they said they're pretty good from everywhere in the room. I don't know if anything could replace a good surround sound system though.

I had Bose and thought they were Great.

go to a home theater forum and type in bose...you will be banned. Way better choices than bose for you what you would pay
