would this give me a noticeable gain? or would i need to do carb/intake work also?

Hard to say how much you will gain. Personally i would not do it,not worth the money to gain so little.

that's what i figured, i had a 3 cylinder yammy tiller 40 that had the reeds, tuner, rejet carbs/intake, shaved heads...

it was a lot of work but had a very strong holeshot and a mean sound, i dont want to do all that i feel it decreased the life of the engine.

check yer mail

Yeah if you were asking about the v6 yamahas with power mods I would say go for it. My dad has a 22' skeeter bay with a 225 yamaha that would eat w's haynie :)
