Get a scematic of the reel. I could explain it but it will be easier if you have a picture.

They just come out. No twisting no tricks. Be care ful with th retainer clip as it tends to fly never to be seen again.

I worked on mine recently, and the clip came out easily. After crawling around on the floor looking for it after it flew out, i finally found it. I then had the same problem that Homerun is having. I never could get the bearing out, even with some force. I didn't want to break anything either so I gave up. I'm looking for help also.

The outboard bearings (part no 194) are easy, but can you push that pin out and replace the spool bearing? My parts list shows the whole spool assembly (pn 1507) has to be replaced to get that one. The spool bearing is the one that grinds on my reel. It's probably 20 years old. Ive gotten my use out of it. Maybe time for a core or an E7.

You should be able to take it out. Do a search I think there is a tutorial on bloodydecks.com that shows how to do it. There is also a youtube video that shows how to do it.

Thanks, I'm going to give it a shot.
