I'm new here. Originally from Jeanerette. Now residing in Texas, near Freeport. Shadman introduced me to the board. I'm looking forward to traveling back to La. to fish the vermilion bay area. My Dad is getting kind of old and his fishing trips are getting few and far between. As soon as the fishing picks up around Marsh Island and Cypermore Point, I'm gonna haul my boat down there and try to put him on some fish. Hopefully I'll be able to see some reports on this board. Thanks

Welcome aboard. Like you, I was raised along Hwy 90 and now live in "Far West" LA like mikedatiger. Used to fish Vbay and Marsh Island and launch out of Burns Point. Look forward to your reports.

Transplanted as well. Don't rule out the Freeport area. Pretty good fishing there esp. in the Summer in the Surf @ Surfside Beach and in Galveston.
However, fishing in La. is still where I would rather go. Still go to G.I./Fourchon area as much as I can.
