Do people keep these fish alive all day and weigh in at lunch time? Or were most of the big fish caught later in the day? It seems that a large majority of the live fish were weighed in mid-day.

Really varied this year. Trout do better than most people think inside of a live well. It depends of how bad you stress them after caught. If not gut hooked, they do really well.

it prolly depends on how close they were when they caught them to the launch. maybe idk

we had a game plan in our boat. 6+ and we was hauling butt to the launch.

Caught mine at 1pm. Thought it was only around 5 so I decided I needed to weigh it alive so I took off right then and there. Plus, my arm was about to fall off by then anyway. Turned out to be almost 6 and with the bonus it was over 6. I am just fishin in a 16' flat bottom so my live well consists of a 100qt ice chest filled with water.

the thing to remember in the summer is to try to keep your livewell cool. Drop a frozen water bottle in there, or a couple handfuls of ice. Most trout die in livewell because the water gets too hot. They "boil" in there in the summer time.

I frequently change the water in my "livewell" to keep good oxygenated water in there plus to keep the temps down. But I only have to worry about that for the shootout.

Just wondering........what baits were some of the bigger fish caught on?

What part of the lake where the bigger fish caught?

If I remember correctly......last years winning fish came from along the ship channel.
