Cajun Spotters Frog Fest

When: Saturday, March 27, 2010.
Where:
Turtle's Bar/Atchafalaya Landing
Cost: $20 covers limited edition shirt, contest registration, supper, and eligibility for door prizes.

The Cajun Spotters' Frog Fest will be the first event of the year, and the first event of its kind. We've been able to add some great sponsors who have kicked in some cool door prizes that will be given out to registered entrants. Some lucky team will go home with the 2010 Frog Trophy, bragging rights, an article in the April 2010 issue of
Cajun Outdoors Magazine & BayouBucks.com, and the possibility for inclusion on the Bayou Bucks II DVD.

The plans are to start cooking and registering teams around 2:00 Saturday afternoon at Turtle's Bar/Atchafalaya Basin Landing (
get driving directions). Teams will head out for a night of frogging anywhere they choose. Returning at midnight, we'll weigh in the 10 biggest frogs from each team as well as the heaviest overall frog.

Other events will also be held at the weigh-in, including a frog calling contest and a "who can hold the most frogs at once" contest. So gas up the boat, change the bulb in the headlight, and come on over to Henderson. A good time is guaranteed!

Some buddies went last night around the bayou benoit area - Beau Bayou to be more specific and had 200 by 11:30.

Pretty much everyone is smoking them right now.
