javelina pigs
has anyone ever tried javelina ? just wondering, i heard that they were no good to eat. but im sure some crazy coonass has tried it atleast once.

I have eaten quite a bit of Javelina and it is fine....just like anything else that you shoot, it's all in how you handle it afer the kill.

good deal man, i was just wondering. i killed a few of them on specktators place in texas a few months ago and we just threw em. definitely will have to give them a try next time. thanks for the info

My father in law hunts around Junction TX. Once he said one of the guys he shares the lease with shot one. They could not even give it to some of the poor locals......No one wanted it.......Nasty Animals......

When I hunted in Tilden, Texas at the first of the year we killed several Russian/feral hogs , but the Javelena there were used as fertilizer. I don't know, as a coon-azz I was willing to give it a try but they (my host) ,would allow no part of it. Do you have to remove the 'stank-glands ' or something?
