it is alot of fun actually!!!!! we grilled out, laid around in the shade and had a great time....a couple of us did end up hiking over to the surf side to fish a little, caught a few lady fish on top water. Always exciting with lures getting knocked 5-6 feet in the air!

That looks like fun. How far out is Horn Island. I might like to take my kids out there sometime.

Chris Havoc 06-18-2009 10:08 AM

its only about 7 miles offshore if you put in somewhere around pascagoula around the shipyard or you can put in around the biloxi/ocean springs area and its a little farther run eastward. There are plenty of boat ramps in the general area. Its a great place to take the kids for a day on the beach, the hike to the surf side is only about a hundred yards when your close to the tips. If your not familiar with the area, keep an eye on the depth, there some shallow water bars scattered just off of the island on the sound side.
