Thought you might enjoy the first in a series of videos by Bill Dunce on Casting. Specifically, the art of fine tuning a Shimano reel. This video is very informative - pay particular attention to technique applied when removing a backlash, or in this case, backlashes.

P.S. after I re-spooled it and took out all of the nots and kinks, it did cast better :*****:
