You must be going hog hunting with Bruce....
My old bike had a lift kit on it and I did not have any problems. It will increase the angle of the cv joints and axle which is not the best for them. I was not a mud hog and I did not abuse my bike and I had no problems. If you are looking to go do some wild and crazy mud riding I would suggest upgrading to the Gorilla axle but they are about $300 a piece.
