Incident on an apache platform this a.m. That gloria a. & master everett assisted on

0150 hrs. Received a radio transmission from the m/v master everett that a platform in east cameron block #2 had exploded & was on fire & asked if they could assist in fighting the fire & possibly retrieving hands out of the water. Called the rig & co. Man jack j. Agreed to let the boat go. Called the boat back & told them to start heading that way.

0154 hrs. Contacted the m/v gloria a. On the co. Set & got an eta from them (boat was e/r to wc 498 hwo) & they said that they could be there in 45 minutes, had the boat start heading that way to assist also, called co. Man ken roberts & ok’ed it with him also & he said that was fine just keep them updated. Made a couple of phone calls around cameron & found out that it was an apache platform & then informed midstream north in case they needed to call someone, but while on the phone with them heard wc 71d (apache) call the master everett & give them the lat & long to the platform, so the martin dispatcher did not need to call them to inform them of what was going on…

0205 hrs. Received a report from the master everett that their eta was 1 hr. To location & that they were in constant communication with wc 71d & the coast guard in houston, tx. The coast guards eta was 1 hr. 15 minutes to location & boat also informed me that there were believed to be (3) men in the water. While talking with the master everett the international general was talking with the coast guard on vhf #16 & he was 20 minutes from location & would to start trying to locate & retrieve the men & then start fighting the fire until coast guard arrived on scene.

0216 hrs. Got a phone call from co. Man harry jenkins on wc 498 that as soon as the boat (gloria a.) is done with whatever it can do it needs to be heading his way so it can do odyssea defender’s c/c & they can get their groceries off of the boat, called the boat & informed them of this & capt. Heath said ok.

0230 hrs. M/v gloria a. Called the international general & asked if he had found anybody yet & they said not yet, the gloria a. Told them that he was 20 minutes out & would assist in looking for the men as soon as he arrived on location.

0233 hrs. The international general informed the coast guard that they see a green light floating in the water & are going to check it out, international general just called back & said that the guys are waving to them & they are going to pull along side of them & get them in the boat.

0247 hrs. Heard the gloria a. Calling for the intl. General & were getting no answer, wc 71d tells the gloria a. That they were arriving on scene and assist in any way needed, the boat informed the platform that the platform was ablaze, platform informed them that the intl. General was having trouble getting the hands on board saying that one of the hands was panicking pretty bad & he was in bad shape (barely breathing)

0258 hrs. Coast guard informed the intl. General that there was a reesue chopper e/r but they needed to start heading to grand chenier to get other hands to a waiting ambulance & that they would pick the hand in bad shape up from the boat while they were e/r to grand chenier.

0303 hrs. Gloria a. & the master everett started hitting the fire with some water. Said that the well head itself was on fire.

0314 hrs. Master everett came on vhf #16 & asked if there were any vessels in the east cameron block #2 area with a fire cannon their assistance was needed @ that location.

This is all for now…
