That all depends on how old it is, newer ones are more efficient.
Also on where it is located, insulation, how often you open the lid and how much ice you use.
There is no need for an individual to have a 300 or 400 lb. ice machine, unless you are going to use a lot of ice.
I had a 45 lb./day ice maker at my last house and I couldn't tell the difference in the elect. or water bill after I
installed it. But the bigger ones, you will definitely be able to tell. I needed a lot of ice when I fished offshore.
I stored ice from the small 45 lb. ice maker in trash bags, in a big freezer, until it was needed. I didn't want to
buy a big ice machine and only needed a lot of ice a couple times a month.
My current house isn't plumbed up for an ice machine, or I would buy another small one.
