Lots of bait, slicks, trout and redfish in lake calcasieu
[SIZE=3]Strong spring tides continue to bring huge schools of Mullet and Pogie into Lake Calcasieu to set up a buffet line for trout and redfish. As the bigger fish smash into these bait pods and gorge themselves this generates oil slicks on the surface. These slicks will point the way to the Speckled Trout and Redfish in the area. Diving seagulls continue to pick a frantic shrimp jumping out of the water being forced to the surface by hungry trout looking for a snack. Clean water at the jetties is producing HUGE BULL REDFISH AND BLACK DRUM for fishermen on Texas Tackle factory soft plastics. Chicken on a chain and Opening night have been the best colors. Mirrolure’s She dog and Mirrordine have been the best hard baits early in the morning. If you are missing springtime fishing and catching on Lake Calcasieu you might want to re-think you sanity. Call the “DUCKETTS” toll free at 1.888.762.3391 FOR A GOOD TIME. Kennel Up. BTW – if you are keeping up with the on-going “DUCKETT” news - - - There’s nothing new this morning – so sad.
