I run my engine in a narrow, shallow bayou when I go Deer hunting.....so it get plugged up a couple of times every season and over heats the engine. It usually will unplug after I let it cool down and then run it some more. But it can take several "over-heating's" before it keeps the engine cool enough to not overheat again.
This is kind of a pain when I hunt until dark and trying to get back to the boat launch. I am afraid to take it apart on the water where there is nothing but flooded swamp and no way to get out on dry land to pull the thermostate to clean it.
