i have the min kota it has broken. 1 time the shaft snapped and the other time it got water in the head and burnt it all up either time it was fixed under waranty a shop in baton rouge offers a stainless shaft replacement it is like 200.00 bucks but mabey it is worth it. but i do think it is quite the ford/ chevy thing ive heard pros and cons of both not sure if the motor guide has this option but with the minn kotas the stering assist is pretty sweet
