Monday Morning Trout/Reds!
Exciting Day On The DU!
Picture perfect day 'DOWN DULARGE'! Slick calm this morning and the trout bite was 'ON' at our first stop. Unfortunately when the conditions are calm you usually have to deal with gnats. No different this morning as the gnats were unbearable and as bad as I've ever seen them. Todd Walker, his wife Melody, and 8yr old Charlie along with 10 yr old Jack flew down from San Antonio,Tx. to sample our south Louisiana redfish. After enjoying a good trout bite Sunday evening, Todd wanted to stick a few before tackling the reds. We left the trout bite with 20 nice fish as the kids couldn't handle the gnats. Man I hate when that happens! The family did exactly what they wanted to do as they caught redfish after redfish and were worn out by 11:30. Those young boys came to fish and they whacked them with double & triple hook-ups. They'll sleep well tonight and be back at it tomorrow with a swamp tour with Black Guidry. Good luck fishing.
