I agree . this was a pure publicity stunt. i volunteer at the local food bank and we serve anywhere from 200 - 400 folks a day.
the food bank would be happy to have both the food and the labor donations to serve the food legally.
There is no freedom to do what you want in a public park. there are rules to be followed so no ones freedoms have been violated.
here in B.R. they do things like this give away all the time. But you must get a permit from BREC and you must get inspected and permited to sell or give away food to the public.
i tried to get a permit to sell brisket and pork sammies and ribs at the big ball complex here and it was denied because they knew i'd take all the buisiness from their lil hot dog and burger concession stand.
