Reeds are on carbureted engines but not fuel injected unless someone knows somthing I dont. From best I understand in a nut shell the jets and reeds in a carburetor do the same thing that injectors due on a fuel injected engine, both have their pros and cons. The deal with removing the restrictor on the TLDI is like unrestricting air flow on any engine and from stuff I have read on this new engine it will adjust its self for more air flow and add more fuel due to computer on engine so the next thing to figure out is if you can modify the exhaust in any way to get more out flow.
