that was the first thing I tryed per the mechanics advice. Went to a heavier oil and the noise seemed to quiet down a bit but not for long.

So is this tapping noise a sign of a engine thats about to blow or will the engine last its normal life? In other words, should I get rid of this thing before she blows?
