- 7'
- ML for plastics, Med/fast for top
- cork, but i'm coming around to foam
- split grip with reel seat screw on back or protected on front. i dont like an exposed reel seat screw.
- med-long length grip for leverage during casting and catching.
- i dont like bright rods, i find them distracting. black or grey is my prefrence.
- grey, g-loomis
- brand name, model, length, action and taper only. i really dislike the 'labeling' that many manufacturers have adopted in the last few years. many people can be confused and think that a rod labeled "crankbait" can only be used for cranks and nothing else.
i've been using g-loomis for several years now because the sensitivity is incredible. but i did play with a laguna rod recently and it was extremely sensitive and VERY impressive.
