I'm a Christian, and I like to give, but sometimes the best advice to give someone in need is to tell them to pray or pray with them. I can't tell you how many times God has answered my prayers and provided for me when I trusted in him. Most of the time the answer to my prayers meant an adjustment to my own plans and some discipline to accomplish my needs. I know this takes faith, and some people will believe it or totally try to rely on what they can make happen by manipulating and using people. regardless of what she thinks, she will have to discipline herself to be able to provide for her kid, you helping her out is just enabling her from working or having faith.
