Lake Charles area has a lot to offer, you are close to saltwater and freshwater plus you can be far enuff from gulf incase hurricane blows in. The are camps on both sides of the Big Lake area from the gulf all the way north of Lake Charles and when you get above I-10 there are camps along the rivers that give you access to freshwater and you are still minutes from saltwater by boat.
