Y'all gotta learn the "Breton island flip".
1st either smash the barb on your hooks or clip em off so unhooking is easy
2nd always fish with your rod tip down
3rd when you hook up don't make a scene regardless of how big the fish is
4 th learn to flip big fish in one subtle swoop
5th once fish is in boat just sit down Un hook it and slip it in ice chest
I've had big fish on and a boat trolls by I push my clutch and let let the fish run to take the bow out a rod, sometimes you loose em sometimes tey stay on but at least they didn't see u hooked up !!
