Both hold ice just as long give or take a couple hours. Only reason I put yeti above k2 is the latches. Seems like over time the k2 latches could be broken off

I have to agree with this statement. My K2 will hold ice just fine it is just me and the wife drinking out of it. Let 4 kids start opening it for juice and cokes and the ice doesn't stand a chance. I got mine hoping I wouldn't have to buy 2 or more ice chest a year like I was with the cheap WalMart ones. The cheap Wal Mart ones aren't even that cheap anymore.
