Good advice. When I look at a resume or help someone out with one, it has to be neat and to the point. I think of it like a PowerPoint presentation. Hit the high points. Don't be too wordy. I mean, if you have a job with a lot of duties, then you can't help it. But if you were a cashier at a grocery store, there's no reason to have a paragraph on what you did. I like to be able to look at a cover letter and a resume and see everything I need to know quick. If I have to search for what your duties were, or pick out the major duty, its not a very good resume.

Keep in mind, most resumes are 1-2 pages. Mine, with 2 college degrees, description of my research, 3 job descriptions, college accomplishments, skills/knowledge, and professional memberships is a a page and a half.
