trout yes, but redfish can tolerate freshwater. Redfish can actually live and thrive in freshwater. You can put redfish in a freshwater pond. If you go to Bass Pro Shops in Denham Springs and look in the aquarium, they have a couple redfish in the aquarium along with all the freshwater fishes
