We experienced the same thing with the seas out of GI.
It was fairly flat on the ride out but all of a sudden around 11:00 am the wind picked up and so did the seas.
We started heading in thinking that we were going to he beat to hell the whole ride in.
After heading north around 5 miles the seas laid back down to 1' - 2'.
