sorry you asked this question. people here will tell you not to buy a haynie just because w owns one. these same people have never set foot in either hull. haynie is a good fishing boat but you wont be impressed with the fit and finish of the cap for the money. blackjack is a fine ride that is a little more big water capable. as far as being more family oriented all kids should have life jackets on at all times in either one and the sides in the haynie are lower but there not low enough to where your kids will be flying out. if i were you id go ride/test out both hulls and decide which one YOU like. cant go wrong with either one imo.
