Default Offshore 7/27

Made a trip offshore this weekend. Water was a little choppy but we managed. Headed south and joined the rest of the fleet at Who-dat where a significant color change was found with some scattered grass beds on it. Made some bait and tried at the p/f for some tuna with no luck. Caught a couple small chickens off the grass and headed for the drill ship to the south. Put out the spread and on the first pass hooked a really nice blue marlin. Fight lasted about 1.5 hours and just as we got it boat side for the second time, the line snapped. Got a short couple videos of this thing, she jumped out of the water and i know was easily over 300+ lbs. Made another attempt at tuna to no avail (live bait, jigs, popper, etc). Good trip overall. Weed line really formed up on the rip when we headed in, it was dang near to the drill ship at 5 p.m.
