Believe it or not you can do that in Louisiana. We have the Wild Azalea Trail just outside of Woodworth that runs to Valentine. There is a loop off of the trail that goes around kinkaid lake. You could start on the Valentine side hike the Kinkaid loop and hike the Wild Azalea back to Valentine. It has been a long time since I hiked it so I don’t know what kind of shape it is in but I know it is still there.
If you check with P&P they have group trips that go or they could give you plenty of info on the trail.
