We bought a half dozen Igloo 120 quart Marine ice chests around 2000 when we were ramping up our beef business. These ice chests saw hard use for 5-6 years picking up processed beef and delivering to sides of beef customers and bringing lots of individual cuts for sale at local farmers' markets. Then they saw hard use as fishing coolers, seats, and life vest/anchor/fire extinguisher storage on boats. They were also used as heavy duty shipping crates moving experimental materials and laboratory electronics around the country on numerous projects. From the looks of the advertisement, the newer model is just a later generation of the older 120 quart heavy duty Igloo Marine design.
These are tough ice chests, and we have not had one fail yet. I trust them as shipping containers for our most valuable and sensitive laboratory equipment, and I definitely trust them as fishing coolers. After over a decade, a couple of ours are showing some signs of wear and may be soon marked for lighter duty storage of less sensitive stuff. But with this long and hard of service, if I needed replacements, I would buy the same make and model.
For comparison, we also bought a couple of smaller Coleman Extreme 40-60 qt coolers between 2004 and 2007. In spite of lighter usage, these are already approaching the end of their useful service, and will not remain in service as long as the 120 quart Igloo Marine coolers. The insulation on the Coleman Extreme coolers is better (they hold ice longer), but the handles and hinges and actual strength of the ice chest itself is lower. Coolers should be able to bear the load when filled with ice/water/fish/drinks/etc.
