Can't tell from that pic, would need to see some fins but could be american eels which are pretty incredible fish. They all spawn in the Sargasso Sea and then spend most their lives in freshwater (our only catadramous fish, opposite of anadramous like salmon), even the ones you catch way up in the middle of the country made that trip from thousands of miles away avoiding predators like fish and coonazzes and Asian fish markets
