In the Lake Charles area......the only shallow area is on the east side of the ship channel starting a little south of the ship turnaround area [this is the 4 poles forming a square a little south of the I-10 bridge] and going south for about a 1/4 mile. This area is probably the size of 4 or 5 football fields. When there has been a strong north wind that causes a very low tide......there will be a small mud flat that you can see.
Middle of the lake is deep...6 to 20 feet. Over by the sea wall....there is some 30+ foot deep areas. I wonder if the new boat docks [looks to be almost complete] will attract fish?????
Do you fish the bank under the bridge on the east side??? If you can keep from getting hung up.....sometimes there are some red fish there.
