I never understood spending that much for a rod and reel. My uncle does well for himself and has several $1000+ rod n reel combos and doesn't catch any more fish than me with my $50 castaway and $50 shimano setup. fishing is what i do to pass the time till i go fishing the next time . i consider good gear an investment / and i addicted to buying rods/reels i have a major problem
