We have that very slide in our Traffic Incident Management class that we do through FETI. The part you have to watch is in determining the safe area of work. It is a joint decision with the ranking police and fire officer.
For the most part, in Louisiana we as firefighters are allowed to do our jobs without incident. Just depends on the agency who responds with you.
