But southern is hitting it right on the head.
Although it's from a movie clip... this sum's up exactly why we are going downhill so fast..
We are allowing our goverment and corporate lobby groups to keep us all divided / hating each other because of our skins, religions, and politics.
I choose to be a libertarian for exactly this reason... I will not choose the lesser evil any damned more. I will not give my consent as a citizen by doing that any more. I recognize that this means that my vote will not help those wearing either red or blue shirts... but am past the point of giving a crap about it. Neither one has either my or this countries interests at heart anyway. They are just there to keep there corporate lobbyist master's happy.
We have been involved in the "war on terror" for longer than ww1,2,korea,and every war since combined. What have we gotten from it... half our personal freedoms stripped away and the terrorists are still going full steam.
We have the highest costs per capita as a percentage of GDP for healthcare of any civilized nation... yet have one of the least effective systems (measure of # of doctors and hospital beds per capita)
We jail a higher percentage of people than most of the rest of the world combined, yet our crime rates are among poorly policed third world country standards.
Our school system (other than to some arguable extent our university's and college's) are a joke, which is still knee deep in the failed prussian model of schooling.
We bicker back and forth about "obama" is the devil and will ruin this country. Or republicans only care about rich people and are going to squeeze the middle class and poor through the grinder.
We scream about Obamacare is going to bankrupt insurance companies and that's the goal of the government... (yet insurance company stocks have ALL skyrocketed since obamacare has went live...) No one says.... well looky here.... if its gonna bankrupt insurance companies then why are they making so much more money???? could it be because they are the ones who wrote the laws to create a system... where it cost significantly more to purchase significantly less insurance... and yet you were MANDATED TO DO IT???....
We chant meaningless slogan's like "they will take my guns when they pry them from my cold dead hands" yet don't mind one bit that the NSA can and does listen and record your every conversation.
We are up in arms over coca cola airing a commercial celebrating diversity, but we ignore the NSA & CIA giving tacit approval to KILL AMERICAN CITIZENS via drone strikes, without so much as a nod to due process (trial by a jury etc) or any of the other values that our founding father fought for.
I will say here... I don't care if your a dem or a pub... stop voting for the lesser of two evils. start voting like you have a pair. non of our founding fathers would have done any less. I will be damned if i will.
